North Carolina is truly a nature lover's paradise- and it has the parks to prove it. Here are a few that residents of Cary can easily access for a day or weekend of recreation and relaxation.
Fred G. Bond Metro Park
The city of Cary actually surrounds one of Wake County's largest municipal parks, Fred G. Bond Metro Park. At an impressive 310 acres, the park was designed such that facilities are integrated into the natural setting. The highlight of this retreat is Bond Lake, where boat rentals are available. There are also more than four miles of trails, a ropes course, performances in Sertoma Amphitheatre, picnic shelters, athletic fields, and the Lazy Daze Playground . The Bond Park Community Center, the Cary Senior Center, and a Compost Education Center are located within the park.
